H. S. to begin their high school career. From the beginning, we tooka prominent part in school affairs Almost all the class returned as loyal I Sophmores and there was added loyalty from other schools. Although some of our number left us we always kept the spirit of old. In social affairs we have taken an active pai t. We entertained the other High School classes at a May Day Party which excelled previous ef- forts as well as set a notable example. Refreshments were served in the lower hall on long tables beautifully decorated in blue and pink while a phonograph furnished our guests with music As a closing number for the evening we found the May Pole. Again on October 31, 1924 we entertained the High school at a Halloween party. In the early part of the evening we presented a short program suitable to the occasion consisting of twelve numbers. On November 20, 1925 we entertained the Seniors and High School Faculty at a Thanksgiving Party. The refreshments were the masn attraction of the evening and even the Seniors amused themselves with the favors. We enjoyed a dinner party at the home of Mrs. Freel in May 1925. Another such event was enjoyed at the home of Mrs. Gourley, iviay 2, 1926 with Mrs. Schrack as assistant hostess. After the sumptuous d.nner, clev- er and delightful, games were played, The Junior-Senior Banqet was given on the evening of May 14, by the Ladies Aid, at the home of Mrs, McCullugh. The room was beautifully decorated in the Senior's green and gold and this color scheme was used throughout the dinner. The carnival that was held in the gymnasium on October 1, 1925 add- ed greatly to the Athletic Fund. The Juniors with their punchboards made the largest contribution to the school. Our booth was decorated in the class colors, carmen and silver, and was made attractive by the large cupie dolls and the inviting boxes of candy. , Safety First, the farce comedy given by the Juniors, May 13, was a great success. The musical numbers between acts were furnished by the Juniors. We appreciated the hearty applause of the crowd, this being the first time a Junior Class has ever put on a Class Play. Several basket ball stars for the first teams have been furnished by our class. Flora Fruhling as forward, Agnes Gourley running center, Mabel Peckham guard, and of the boys Denver Biby and Max Hutchins played center, Kenneth Gammill forward, Leonard Schrack, Dick Dickerson and Uecil Morgan guard. The inter-school competition was much stronger this year than ever before and some real work was required togain these places. The Juniors took a prominent part in the Literary work. We held lead- ing parts in the High School Operetfa which was put on March 26. Out of the thirteen entries from our school in the Interscholastic Literary Meet nine came from our class. From the e nine entries we won five first prizes one second and one third. We were also honored by having the oration of one of our number' Kenneth Gammill, chosen as one of the five best in the state. He was selected by the judges to compete in the finals at Boulder. Due to the fact that so many Basket Ball stars were furnished by the Juniors the coaches turned expectantly to our class for enthusiastic lead- ership in track. This was our first attempt at but nevertheless We showed our ability by bringing home several prizes. We have hope for a better track team in our Senior year. At the close of the year we still have fifteen members. We are just as lively as ever and will remain true to the purple and white.
