They were Marie Culler, Leona Keckler, Ruth Blair, Paul Peckham, Earl Pickett, Norman Prettyman and Fred Cory. The officers for the term were Leona Keckler, president, Paul Peckham, vice president and Marie Culler, secretary and treasurer. We were active in basket ball that year, Paul, Fred and Nor- man being on the boy's team, while Leona, Ruth and Marie were on the girls' first team. In the fall of 1923, there were nine Sophomores, Mary Eller and Rossie Wheeler having enrolled, Leona Keckler, president, Ruth Blair, vice pres- ident and Norman Prettyman, secretary. We were active in basket ball this year, and our social ability was proved by the St. Valentine's party at which we entertained the high school students and the school faculty. In 1924 the Juniors had an enrollment of five but this number was re- duced to four shortly after Christmas when Mary Eller left. Although We were small in number, we took an active part in the affairs of our school. Three of our members were on the basket ball team, Paul and Leona being forwards on their respective teams and Ruth jump-center Two of our members were on the literary team, Leona for declamation and Ruth for short story. Five Seniors enrolled in 1925. Oscar Smith and Harold Wllliamsjoining our group of thi ee, Oscar came from Lincoln school and Harold from Otis Colorado. The latter left at the close of the first semester and four re- mained to complete the term. Despite the fact that we were the smallest class in either Junior or Sen- ior high, We have been one of the most activein its affairs. Leona Keckler and Ruth Blair played on the girl's basket ball team and Paul and Oscar were reliables for the boys' team. Leona, Ruth and Oscar tried out for literary and Oscar is also on the track team. Last fall a Student Council was organized and Leona has been president during this, the organization's first year. Paul and Ruth were the Senior representatives on the council. Paul, Leona and Ruth took the Journalism course and were members of the Arriban staff, Leona was Editor-in-chief, Ruth assistant and Paul athletic editor. We were represented in the Commercial department by Paul, Leona and Ruth, they were members of the bookkeeping class. Oscar is a student in mechanical drawing and manual training and has made many useful and attractive articles of furniture. Ruth Blair was editor-in-chief and Paul acted as business manager of the Annual. As we neared the close of the year, we came to realize more and more that it is not quantity but quality that determines the value of a class. Although we were very busy at the close of the year, we were glad to respond to duty's call because we knew that by so doing we are laboring for A. H. S. It is the profound desire that the succeeding classes may come-to love the Purple and White, as deeply as do We --- the class of '26. .ai 1 :I 'in CITIIiEI1K2EiE.'fl'lliTEiElFIIE!1lHZlI!EE'I!iTl5EEl!l Z7'lllflillilvillfllllliiF!!E1f'f'Mii!! lE l'WE f'f'E1WWY7l'lF!i'Wl'fKiE5ll'1'FliEflil1E!llTlEUii'1ll'.l!FlMEMlH'Af'i',lWl EE?.EEDMTlE 5,1 I 1 l I I l w - w E I E j E I I i I l 1 i i 1 l I 1 1 1 I 5' I E l l I I s l l 1 E 505

A fl A GLASS Pnoierrnov fl The class of '26 had for along time been undecided as to how they i would have their future foretold. The idea of going to a magician did not E prove satisfactory as they might find life monotonous knowing, as they would, what was decreed for their future. However, they soon agreed I upon aplan. Their sponsor, Mr. Gammill, and each member solemnly 1 if xl vowed to meet at the Arriba Gymnasium twenty-five years later and i - E hold a reunion. E W E TIME: TWENTY-FIVE YEARS LATER IN ARRIBA The scene opens in the city of Arriba. An aeroplane is circling over the Aviation fieldg finally the plane lands safely. A man steps out of the E i plane and seems to be searching for the familiar spots of long ago. The .aviator has a Van Dyke beard and his appearance suggests Europe and ex- l E if i tensive travel. He is somewhat taller than the Oscar of twenty-five years fa 2 l Lago but his brown eyes have the merry twinkle as of old. He leaves his i i machine and goes to Broadway, the main street of a quarter century ago. E - He inquires where the Arriba Gymnasium is and is told the Old Gym is I in the northern part of the cityg also that there are two new high schools, S i East and Central. l El 2 j 1 I 2 . As he approaches the Gymnasium a Limousine draws up to the curb and f Q a well dressed woman of about forty steps out. He recognizes his old class- - mate, Ruth Blair. Her features have not changed but this is not the slen- E l der girl once called Slats,,' but a rather fleshy middle aged woman. E' li Ruth goes forward and inquires of Oscar if this is the Arriba Gymnasium, 5 E l He seeing she does not recognize him, tells her who he is. As they ap- 5 l proach the Gymnasium a small grey haired man is seen hurrying out of the front door with a book under his arm. He is heard murmuring to him- ' 2 9 2 l self, Late as of old. They recognize Supt. Gammill and greet him. The E E U' o o W' r CD ,.. I E A few moments later Paul appears and it looks as if he had not prosper- g if i ed during the last few years, for his clothes are ragged and he has driven F up in a rattly old Ford. He walks toward the others somewhat embarrass- g ,. l ed and greets them in his customary cheerful way. At this time the street l car stops and Leona steps out, glances about inquiringly for several min- I f l autes. She has not changed much except for the fact that she is somewhat g 5 1 Q lf i taller. i L i e f Soon they begin talking and before long all are laughing over reminis- - f .eenses of school life in old A.
