OC DIVISION The men of OC include radiomen and signalmen. They are responsible for maintaining visual and radio communications with other ships and com- munications stations around the world. The Radarmen of 01 Division had one of the most important jobs in Westpac--they were required to collect information from the ship ' s sensors- -radar, ECM, lookouts and sonar- -and process this infor- mation in order for the Captain or OOD to make decisions on the operation of the ship. When oper- ating at sea, the radarmen must be constantly aware of the tactical situation. They must also be proficient in communications procedures, anti-submarine war- fare, anti-air warfare and navigation. LTJG Jerry W.
