C. Woods A builder builded a temple; He wrought with care and skill; - Pillars and groins and arches Were fashioned to meet his will; And men said when they saw its beauty: It shall never know decay. Great is thy skill, O Builder, Thy fame shall endure for aye. A teacher builded a temple; He wrought with skill and care; - Forming each pillar with patience, Laying each stone with prayer. None saw the unceasing effort; None knew of the marvelous plan; For the temple the teacher builded Was unseen by the eyes of man. Gone is the builder's temple; - Crumbled into the dust, - Pillar and groin and arches Food for consuming rust; But the temple the teacher builded Shall endure while the ages roll; - For that beautiful unseen temple Was a child's immortal soul. In Memory Of W. H. Lingg Life has given me of its best - Laughter and weeping, labor and rest, Little of gold, but lots of fun, Shall I then sigh that all is done? No, not I; while the new road lies All untrodden, before my eyes. Norah Holland In Memory Of John Whipple To live in the hearts of those you leave behind is not to die. Campbell In Memory Of Capt. Pat F. Craven September the Fourth of '48 A little boy was bom His parents were so proud As a boy he didn't distinguish himself Nor stand out from the crowd. But, as he grew, his ideas did too His mind encompassed one shining notion To devote and live, if necessary give His life in the service of our nation. He lived, he served and he died; If Pat could but speak, He would surely say He did it all with pride. His Brother Michael G. Craven Capt. Pat F. Craven attended 12 years of school in Arnett, graduating in 1966. He attended Cameron College in Lawton, Okla., graduating as a Distinguished Military Student in December, 1970. He entered military service in January, 1971. While patroling the D M Zone in Korea July 19, 1976, his helicopter hit a high tension line and crashed. He passed away July 26, 1976 and was buried in Arnett Cemetery. We Dedicate This Yearbook To Mr. Loyd Barker Loyd Barker was born southeast of Arnett, OK on land owned by his Granddad Eli Barker, which is now part of the Davison Ranch. Loyd received most of his schooling in the Arnett school. He graduated in the class of '38. He was the president of his class and a very respectful student. Loyd worked as auto mechanic for two years at Vici, OK. He moved to Arnett in 1943 where he helped his father-in-law operate the Coles and Barker Service Station. Loyd sold the station in July, 1973. He started working for the Arnett School, September, 1973, as a bus driver and mechanic. Loyd has always been willing to drive the students on band trips, basketball, and miscellaneous trips. He is greatly appreciated by all. THANK YOU, L. B.
