We did Let the Good Times Roll by: participat- ing in C Day, Fifties' Day, Overalls Day, and Leg Day. Also: boys putting girls in the trash bag, playing music and romancing in the halls, and throwing snowballs, dancing, playing basketball and baseball, going to stock shows, and on school trips. As you can see, during this year we really did Let the Good Times Roll. Dedicated to Mr. Marion Bayless has a Bachelor of Arts and Master's in Education. Besides being a teacher, he has dedicated himself to learning. He has attended Cornell University in New York, Ft. Hayes State College in Kansas, Northwestern, Okla. State, O. U. and Phillips Universities in Okla. He has been teaching since 1933 except for a brief time in the Air Force. He has been the Senior 4-H sponsor for the past four years. Besides teaching, he is engaged in farming and ranching, and is known in the community for his registered Herefords. We dedicate this annual to Marion Bayless, a lifetime teacher and student. 3 I'm kind of moody, you know what I mean . . . I mean, man, I can listen to soft music like Country Roads or Rocky Mountain High and it really brings me down. Other times the same music makes me happy or contented I mean, like after listening to John Denver, I can just sit back, drink a cup of coffee, and appreciate everything I've got. I'm at peace with myself and the world And when I feel this way, I'm creative. I can write tender poems and fine prose, But poems are much easier. There's times when I listen to some loud rock, and I feel like boogying . . . What’s Smoke on the Water or China Grove without friends and nice-looking chicks, without pepsi and pool, and a few laughs? I really dig chicks, And, man, when it gets warm in the spring, after school . . . After school I like to shoot some snooker while the music gets my adrenalin flowing. Free rolling music like The Beat Goes On is really great before a game. The band plays loudly, the beat goes on, I dunk the ball, the beat goes on, I foul out of the game, and the beat goes on.” I'm kind of moody, you know what I mean . . . - Joe Nelson LORD AND LADY Lynn Barnes and Wayne Plymesser MISS ARNETT FFA SWEETHEART Stephanie Hennigh Daralyn Moore Escort Steve Martin Escort Don Waters PRINCE AND PRINCESS Judy Gross and Rory Hicks 1975 Wildcat Royalty The Arnett gymnasium was filled to its capacity on the evening of November 15, 1974, with parents, grandparents, relatives and Wildcat fans. The annual crowning of royalty was about to take place with Seasons in the Sun as the Coronation theme. Daryn Beagle sang YOU AND ME AGAINST THE WORLD to begin the evening's activities. The bal- lots were opened and the winners were announced and crowned. Following the coronation, Chan Huff- man sang the theme song, SEASONS IN THE SUN. Background music and accompaniment for solos was played by Mrs. Hennigh. The annual staff would like to thank everyone for supporting their favorites and contributing to the suc- cess of the annual. 6 WILDCAT QUEEN Shari Freeman WILDCAT KING Kevin Taylor EMCEES: Darla Vincent, Gary Lucas FFA SWEETHEART: Daralyn Moore, PRESIDENT: Don Waters MISS ARNETT: Stephanie Hennigh, ESCORT: Steve Martin ENTERTAINMENT: Daryn Beagle, Chan ”Hey Mom, look at us!” Huffman Wayne: What's in this for me? Arnett was fortunate to win 4 of the 5 honors awarded. Roxanna Whitson handed down her crown to the new winner, LaDonna Wingo of Fort Supply. LaDonna will reign as Ellis County Fairest of the Fair for 1974-1975. Also representing Arnett were: Slyvia Gillispie. Stephanie Hennigh, Carrie Looney. Sherry Hunter. Natalie Talamante In the world of competition, The road is long and grim; There is no use starting up it, Without the will to win. Some can get beat and bear it, Tell about it with a grin; But they will never be front runners, Without the will to win. Some kids have all the skill, Their folks watch them and grin; But their little darling will get beat, Without the will to win. Some never quite get there, They sit and wonder why; They seem to lack the essential little thing called try. If you can bounce back after losing. And produce the will to win; You know that you have that little extra, That's awfully hard to beat. The difference in winners and losers, In the arena or in the gym; Is that some possess the little extra, That is called the will to win. So if the road looks rough and rocky, And the future looks awfully dim; Just set your sights and hustle, And produce the will to win. Girl's Basketball Team and Scores Left to Right: Nantfy Miller. Three girls from Arnett played on the West Team. They were: Shari Freeman, Sr. forward, Bonnie Jen- nings, Sr. guard, and Linda Hamilton, Jr. forward. Shari and Bonnie have started three years for the Wildcats. Bonnie led the defensive end with rebounds and Shari was leading scorer with an aver- age of 18.4 points per game. Shari and Linda are two time All-Stars with Linda scoring 15.8 points per game this season. Don Waters and Kevin Taylor were the Arnett rep- resentatives to the West 270 All-Star Team. Don is one of the best shooters in the Northwest. He led the Wildcats in scoring averaging 20.7 points per game and was also the leading rebounder. Kevin was a play-maker and was also very tough on defense for the Wildcats. There All-Stars joined with others, from Shattuck, Gage, Fargo, and Ft. Supply to oppose All Stars from the East 270 Conference in a match in which the East Teams were the victors. The representatives from both sides were honored with a banquet in Vici on March 3, 1975. Coaches Don Biddy and Kent Bilyeu were also present at the banquet. 59 Sr. High Boy's Basketball R. Clark, B. Word, K. Taylor, B. Mitchell, M. Gross, D. Waters, G. Lucas, R. Grice, R. Cox, B.
