BOARD OF EDUCATION Kenneth Sherrill, John Appel, Virgil Roper, Earl Mitchell, Paul Huffman The following quote is taken from Words of Life. Education fails unless the three R’s at one end of the school spectrum lead ultimately to the four P’s at the other end. Preparation for Earning. Preparation for Living. Preparation for Understanding, and Preparation for Participation in the problems involved in the making of a better world. Norman Cousins It is the sincere desire of your Board of Education that our school provides this kind of preparation. We are very conscious of the concerted effort and cooperation required in such an undertaking. We would like to express our gratitude to the Student Body, Faculty, Patrons, and all other who serve for your diligent efforts to accomplish this worthy goal. Sincerely, 2 Board of Education

We, the Senior Class, respectfully dedicate this, the ’67 Wildcat, to the graduates of Arnett High who are serving in the U.S. Armed Forces overseas. It is through sacrifice such as theirs that we have the privilege of attending free public schools.

ADMINISTRATORS W. H. LINGG, Jt. High Prin. JOHN WHIPPLE, Supt. RON HODGES, Prin. L. J. EHRLICH, Grade Prin, It is a great privilege today to write this message as Superintendent of the Amett High School. 1 realize that the daysofold” are gone. Each passing day changes the complexion of the world and confronts it with new problems. We live in a new era. an era of speed, of art, of science, and of not being able to crowd enough living into life. In this whirlwind of living, however, life has been made more meaningful. We face the world as it is by accepting responsibility and having the faith to cope with the strife that comes to any generation. It is my sincere desire that this book will have a deep meaning for each of you. As the years march on and you recall the days spent in the Arnett Public School, may this recol- lection be warm and gracious one. The closing of the school year 1966-67 gives pause to underscore these thoughts. This book, in part, measures the treasured pace at which you have traveled toward maturity and your particular goal in life. You, as the fiber of the Amett School itself, are the light by which it sees most clearly. You and the provinces you would explore are a challenge to the school and its staff. I wish for each of you a clear understand- ing of the importance of mature thinking in reaching the goals you have set for this school year throughout your life. Sincerely, John H. Whipple, Supt. 3
