SUPERINTENDENT’S MESSAGE Students: The members of our annual staff are to be commended for their great community service in publishing this fine book. As we travel through life, we should always seek and strive for better education opportunities for the youth of our great nation. Prepare yourself well for the newer skills demanded by industry and grasp every chance to open avenues of opportunity for the future generations. We have all inherited so much and will contribute so little to the welfare of our fellow man. Remember: Knowledge cannot be forced, it must be sought. Respectfully yours. G. K. Chaffin

IN APPRECIATION MR. A. H. WOODS Mr. A. H. Woods will always be remembered by the 1965 students and faculty of Arnett High School because of his ready smile and sense of humor, his willingness to join in fun, and his tireless energy in trying to secure the best for his school—its students and faculty. This year he completes 25 years of distinguished service to Arnett High School—16 as principal. As we the Senior Class of 1965 step out to join the ranks of many more who remember Mr. Woods for his sincere concern and understanding, and his efforts to secure the best for each student, we salute him. The 1965 Wildcat is dedicated to Mr. Acy Woods as a token of our love and appreciation.

BOARD OF EDUCATION y 'N . f fry • Jfi ' 9 f . Kenneth Sherrill, John Appel, Kenneth Davis, Virgil Roper, Charles Word Your Board of Education feels very proud to be a part of a community such as ours. As we stand back and look at the magnificent new high school building and the relatively new grade build- ing sitting side by side, it brings to us the realization that they were made possible through the cooperation and willingness of interested people; those with a genuine desire to provide our youth with the very best fac- ilities possible. We hope that each student will realize the opportunities and do his utmost to attain his desired goals. There- fore, to each student, the board would present this challenge in the words of the French philosopher, Martin- eau, You better live your best and act your best and think your best today; for today is the sure preparation for tomorrow and all the other tomorrows that follow. Sincerely, Arnett Board of Education
