Our Year of Discovery INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS--Participants on the program of installation were (top photo, left to right) the Reverend O. D. Brown, speaker; William Harris, who presided; and Assistant Principal Amold Henderson, who also spoke. Officers of the class, in the usual order, are Everett El, Esther White, Thomas Capers, William Harris, Frances Snead, Carolyn Harris, Carole Gibson, and Janie Jones. They are shown participating in the candlelighting ceremony which marked the installation. The year 1959-1960 was a year of discovery for the seniors of Armstrong High School. We discovered the joy of being seniors and of being looked up to by underclassmen. We discovered the responsibilities of being leaders. We dis- covered the rigors of debating in English 7 and of problem-solving in Trig. We discovered longer hours of study, harder work, but the satisfaction which comes when one realizes that a long-sought goal is in sight.
