Miss A rmstrong and Attendants Every year the pupils of Armstrong elect a senior girl to be “Miss Armstrong.” This is the most coveted honor a girl can win. She is selected because of previous attainments in scholarship, attendance, personality, development, conduct and ability to accept and worthily execute various responsibilities. She is elected by the popular vote of the entire school. This year Doris Dandridge is Miss Armstrong. She is shown with her attendants at the Armstrong-Walker game. FOREWORD We are at the crossroads. Our varied paths chosen during our stay at Armstrong have come to this culmination of our many dreams—graduation. Along our way we have been guided, not only by sign posts but by friendly guides— our teachers. From this time forward, we follow the sign posts, roads, and high ways of our own choosing. Much depends on the wisdom of our choices. We have learned that the straight road leads to achievement, that shortcuts can prove detrimental, that the right road may be a hard one to follow, but that eventually it is the one that ends in honor and true happiness. We understand that we shall encounter struggles, sorrows, dreams half-fulfilled, and unheeding competition. We have, however, the idealism and strength of youth, and with these, intend to work to achieve intellectual growth, spiritual depth, and healthful physical and social activities. Zs)
