It started with a bake sale and a chili supper to earn money for a Christmas shopping trip to Chicago. The FHA co-sponsored the Sadie Hawkins and Sweetheart dances with the FFA. Our big money makers this year were selling pop at ball games and selling cookbooks. These cookbooks were compiled from recipes collected from community members. Fun activities this year included a skating party, eighth grade picnic, Christmas party, and a weiner roast. This busy and productive year ended with the successful FFA FHA banquets. Thanks FHA! Once there, however, the many trainees from eight area school districts come alive with hard work and a keen interest in learning their future trades. Votec programs provide career awareness and practical training for many employment areas, including auto service and repair, machine shop, welding, drafting and building trades. Available, too, are electronics, food service, social service and health occupations, office procedures and horticulture. Maybe that long trip there isn't so bad ... a student may find the dream of his future on the road to Votec! The play pre- sented little moments picked from various days in Charlie Brown's life. The potpourri included Charlie's lonely lunch on the school playground; Lucy's attempt to win the heart of the sensitive six-year-old musician, Schroeder; Linus' song-and- dance with his favorite thing —his blanket; Peppermint Patty's sweetness and innocence; Snoopy's bout with the Red Baron, and of course, his Suppertime dance routine com- plete with hat and cane. Together they shared the heartbreak of the Very Little League's Championship Baseball Game, the struggles of writing a Book Report on Peter Rabbit and a hopeful Happiness on a lovely starlit evening. Happiness came to Armstrong on April 11 and 12, and part of it will stay in our hearts forever. Liz does wonders for Tim's looks. Jeff's not too sure about this. We're very attached to one another! STRETCH! He's only a baby. 85 Class Competition Day Several changes made this year's Class Competition an exciting round of events. Added were greased and disgruntled pigs, and an uproarious relay of tire-hopping and frog-leap- ing! But the same old rope prob- lem—breaking away in the mid- dle—must prove the arm strength of all the Armstrong classes! The winners, though, this year were the Seniors, with Sophomores placing second. This takes coordination. Ooey-gooey .. . If the shoe fits, grab it! Keep your head down! This little piggy survived. May 10th, will be remembered by the many couples who danced the night away at Danville's Boat Club, overlooking Lake Vermilion. An excellent dinner of prime rib, followed by the entertaining reading of the class prophecy and wills, launched the evening. “Tra- falgar kept the music flowing, while beautifully dressed couples danced and posed for pictures. The 1980 prom will be long remembered a success as spark- ling as the lake itself on that warm spring night. 88 Sail On through Prom 1980 Dreams of Today Will Become Reality Tomorrow GRADUATION '80 CELEBRATE!!!
