iiiiiiilii W mm : : ps ; •••• • v I..Ill: PUBLISHED BY SENIOR CLASS FOREWORD All of us on the Annual Staff hope that this yearbook will be a source of enjoyment and fond reminiscence to you in the future. We also hope that through this book you will be able to maintain many of the friends you have had here at Armstrong Township High School. With these objectives in mind we present to you the Resume? 1962. Lorene Hesterberg, Editor-in-Chief Mr. Sims, Adviser Richard Poyner, Business Manager DEDICATION To you, Mr, and Mrs. Knudson, the 1962 students of Armstrong High School wish to express their ap- preciation and gratitude for your friendship that you so willingly have shared with us. Sharing your friendship is only a small part of the many things you have done in your three years as teachers here in this school. You have given to us assistance and guidance. But most of all. the two of you have given to most of us the opportunity of having you as our teachers. Even though sorrows and joys have passed your way while you have been teachers at Armstrong, we hope you will never forget this school. We, the Senior Class, will always remember you as our friends and counselors. 3 OUR PRINCIPAL The Senior Class of 1962 is gratefully indebted to you, Mr. Husted. You have helped us to know the value of an education; and you have helped us to search ourselves for the achieve- ments expected from us in life. Expressing our gratefulness to you can only be done by saying, Thank you for your patience and understanding with us during our four years as your students. 4 BACK ROW, Left to Right: Otto Divan, Paul Ludwig, George Johnson. We struggled through initiation and all of the other trials of a freshman. The following year we returned a more con- fident and encouraged group. That year we sponsored the Christmas party and took a more active part in school life. During our Junior year, we were for the most part, occupied by activities concerning our magazine sales campaign, our class play, and the Junior Prom. Our prom theme was Stardust and although it was a lot of work, it was a tremendous success. This year, as Seniors, we have been kept busy by the numerous school activities. Senior Class members have taken an active part in sports, musical productions, annual staff, and almost all other school activities. We feel that our Senior year is a good example of the successful four years we have had here at dear old ATHS. 14 JOHN DAVIS Basketball 1, 2. 3,4 Baseball 1,2, 3,4 Band 1,2, 3 Mixed Chorus 1, 2, 3 Industrial Arts Club 1, 2, 3, 4 President 3 Vice-President 2, 4 Homecoming Attendant 1 Class President 3 Class Vice-President 1,2 Pep Club 4 Flag Custodian 4 JANET APLAND G.
