Occi 'P’tutccfral It is with a great deal of sincere appreciation that I again have the privilege of making a few statements to the students of the Armstrong Town- ship High School, their parents, and other patrons. During these days and years of somewhat uncertainty for our students as they leave high school, I might remind them of the purpose of education; namely, the making of good citizens--morally, socially, economically, politically--by giving each student the opportunity to satisfy his needs, in- terests, and abilities. This purpose should be fundamental in the expres- sion of the peoples' desires for their schools, in the schoolboards regula- tions on various aspects of the educational system, and in the educator's operation of the school itself. May time prove young friends, that we in the driver's seat have steered you along the straight, durable roads that will lead to happy, useful lives. And as you mature may you carry the torch on to still greater heights. J. Benj. Walrich
