James D. Cunningham James D. Cunningham Chairman Alfred S. Alschulcr Philip D. Armour Lester Armour John J. Mitchell, Jr. Perry Addleman Secretary John J. Schommer Director of Publicity THE DEVELOPMENT PLAN Trustees have done much that this might be a great year for Armour In- stitute of Technology. They have forsecn that engineering education cannot go far forward unless it will recognize new principles commensurate with modern developments in science and engineering. They have made exhaustive studies to define these principles, and to determine just how they may be applied to bring Armour Institute forward as a great leader in scientific and engineering education. Guided by their studies, they have evolved the Development Plan, which will make Armour a more useful servant of science and industry in the Middle West. We, who are the students, are more than interested observers of the changes which the plan will bring to our school environment. We arc vital participants in those changes. By giving as much of our energy and our intelligence to our work under its guidance as they have given of theirs to its preparation—thus can we make sure that the Development Plan will achieve all that the Trustees anticipate for the institution.
