Three Hundred Join in Rush ctivities Fraternity and sorority rush became a way of life for 109 girls and 190 boys this fall. Flush began with an open house held by the Panhellenic Council. Rushees visited with representatives from each sorority and asked questions concerning rush. Both sororities and fraternities held rush parties and smokers during the week, which ended with a candle- light ceremony held for all pledges. At the end of the week, bids were received and pledges paired off with active members from the fraternities and sororities to begin their semester-long pledgeship. Candlelight ceremonies, Monday night meetings, and long weeks of both playful and earnest servitude followed for the lucky pledges. Fifty-seven girls pledged six sororities: Avolonte, Delta Zeta, En Ami, Les Choisies, San Souci, and Phi Mu. Social fraternities on campus are Alpha Sigma Chi, Delta Tau Delta, Delta Upsilon, Kappa Alpha, Kappa Sigma, and Phi Gamma Delta. Kent Gardner fcenterj, inter-Fraternity Council sponsor, oversees rush registration with Norman Tindall, Mike Barnett, lohn Lamond, and Miles Bryant. 5 ls YW'
