Communications Committee Encouraging communication be- tween campus organizations is the work ofthe Communications Commit- tee, headed by Tony l-lart in the fall and by Tommy Wallace in the spring. Bulletin boards relaying organiza- tional messages are maintained throughout the student center. The committee also coordinated the sec- tion on organizations in the student directory and sponsored Town Hall meetings, open forums held once each semester. The President's Reception was held again to inform administra- tors on campus activities and to spot- light common goals of the various or- ganizations. Campus Committee fication ofthe campus is the purpose of projects carried out by the Campus Committee, headed by Steve Tipps. The group considered putting pencil sharpeners in classrooms and having street lights installed between the girls' dormitory and the library. Executive Committee Officers of Student Government also serve on the Executive Commit- tee. They are Joey Sandifer, presi- dent, Richard Calfee, vice-president: Jan lvlahaney, corresponding secre- tary, Sherry Penny, treasurer, and Jan Hart, parliamentarian. The com-mittee supervises Student Government activities and renders policy decisions. Another function is to select business to be brought be- fore the organization as a whole. R.E.D. Committee Under the leadership of John Battle, the Research, Evaluation, and Development Committee investigates needs of the college community, rec- ommends solutions, and evaluates the success of their measures. Each year the committee deter- mines the policy for who will publish the student directory. They also select the members for the Student-Faculty Relations Board and recommend stu- dents to serve on the campus traffic court. Efforts were successful in February to open recreational facili- ties of the Student Center on week- ends, and a reception for National Merit finalists in the area was held again in the spring. :ft ZW!
