Dormitories Provide On-Campus Housing for 871 ASC Students Dorm life at Arlington State involves 871 students. The girl's dormitory. Lipscomb Hall, houses approximately 340 women. Mrs. Lera Hancock, Dean of Women, is director of Women's residence affairs. Pachl Hall. Davis Hall, and Trinity House, the three men's dorms. house approximately 531 men. Marion Jacob is director of men's residence aflairs. The dormitory directors are aided by dorm mothers and by student counselors. Dormitory rooms are well-lighted and provide adequate study facilities. Space for group study is also provided. Snack bars as well as TV and lounge areas are located in the dorms. L fb! V

ASC Compiements Opportunities Of Fort Worth - Dallas Region Arlington is the focal point of a great metropolitan area which includes Dallas and Fort Worth. ASC satisfies the need of this great industrial area for a progressive college. Graduates of ASC find many job oppor- tunities awaiting them. lndustrial firms in the area have pro- grams enabling men and women to work and attend school either alternately or simultaneously. ASC and the Dallas- Fort Worth area greatly complement each other. ASC pro- vides a continual flow of well-trained individuals who are prepared to enter the professional World, Both cities make use of the college: and the opportunities afforded students, both occupationally and socially, are greatly increased by the cities. Dallas and Fort Worth provide many social activities which are enjoyed by ASC students. Casa Manana and the Dallas Theatre Center are cultural centers for residents of Dallas, Fort Worth. and Arlington. The Dallas Symphony Orchestra is a nationally prominent organization. Arlington was chosen as the site of Turnpike Stadium, the home of the Dallas-Fort Worth Spurs. Six Flags Over Texas, a national tourist attrac- tion, employs many ASC students and provides exciting entertainment. Dallas and Fort. Worth have shown their appreciation of ASC by giving their support to the college, The cities are a challenge to the college, which must keep pace or become useless. When progress is made by the college, the cities benefit, and achievements by the cities contribute to the col- lege, Dallas and Fort Worth are progressive cities, and ASC is striving to maintain its position of importance in the over- all picture of a modern area. ffv if .
