X DEDICATION iff' For three decades of service to Arlington State College, for being instrumental in making the college what it is today, for guidance and aid to thousands of students as a faculty member, departmental head, and administrator, the 1959 REVEILLE is dedicated to B. C. Barnes, who has devoted his life to education. Mr. Barnes' service to Arlington State began almost thirty years ago when the young Mississippi teacher became a member of the Commercial Arts Department of Grubbs Vocational College, now Arlington State College. Four years later he was made head of the department. Except for two military leaves. his service to the college has been continuous. Mr. Barnes saw action in both World War II and the Korean conflict as an Air Force officer. He became Registrar in 1947 and has been responsible for much of the tremen- dous growth of Arlington State since, both in its junior college growth and in the transitional phase to four year status.
