when we came back to school to start our senior year there were a lot of changes. Our school was being destroyed; the set-up of our school was completely changed, and our freedom had been shortened; but there was something very important that we all noticed — a new face. This new face was our new headmaster, Mr. Thomas Reis. This man had been chosen to reform the students and our school into being an organized community. Some agreed with him on his new ideas and opinions, some didn ' t. Mr. Reis although new among the students, didn ' t give up hope. He tried to give the students as much as he could without bending too far. Mr. Reis became very involved with student activities. Student Council became a regular part of his agenda where he hoped he could communicate with the students more. He has shown us his fairness and interest in student life. Although he was faced with some major inconveniences in his first year at Arlington High School, we hope he has seen AHS for its good points, hopefully overpowering the bad. We, the class of 1980 would like to thank you, Mr. Reis, for doing the best you could for making our last year the best for us. Sincerely, The Senior Class of 1980 18

The path we have walked, oh it seems so long Will soon be pulled out from beneath us and it will be gone. But before this path disappears we will never forget The good times, the parties, and the people we have met. Friends are forever as many of us say But unfortunately, so many friends come and go as they may. The worst part I guess are the changes that we see People and places are changing left and right as it may be. Everything is said to turn out for the better although sometimes it doesn ' t seem that way. As we go through life we shall see if the truth is in what they say. A.FH.S. has brought many things to each of us The education, the experience, and the help may seem like just a rush. But we will all look back at the days so easy going and fun For the times won ' t be forgotten by anyone. So goodbye A.FH.S. we will miss you together and all Thanks for everything for with you behind us we will never fall. Chris Donnelly 17

IN MEMORY OF DANNY JONES There ' s a reason for all that rhymes, it ' s the fact and the way of the times It ' s moving emotion, it ' s high and it ' s low, no matter where you go There is something for all who look, there ' s a story in every book All of the pages, between all the lines, so much that you can find But there ' s too many empty lives my friend And we just can ' t let them waste away For this life is a precious thing my friend And we just can ' t wait another day There ' s a message in every word, and it ' s more than the word you heard It ' s moving emotion, it comes like a sea, washing all over me For there ' s nothing that we can ' t do my friend, cause the spirit is with us all And it ' s here and it ' s now, it ' s up and it ' s down You can feel it surrounding us all After all we ' re all the same, only differences is a name and where we are In this crazy mixed up deal, there ' s so many things to feel Near and far it ' s where you are And there ' s times when I can ' t contain all the feelings of love I ' ll gain It ' s there for the asking, it ' s for all of you if you would take it too KANSAS
