STODDARD EMMONS CHAPLIN Stod , — Projection Club; Bowling JACK J. CLARK Fall and Football As the 1956 football season began, one big problem faced the team, the lack of experience. With only a couple of veterans returning and a schedule packed with powerhouses facing them, the team faced a tough season. Under the able coaching of Mr. Burns and his staff, the willingness to learn, the fighting spirit, and the determination to win were sparked. Captain Dick Pat- terson’s great running, blocking, and tackling were an inspiration to the whole team. Flanking him in the baekfield were two fleet half-backs, Captain-elect Mike Faiola and Jim Surrette. Completing the baekfield was George Limerick whose tricky maneuvering got Arling- ton out of many tight spots. For their fine play throughout the year, three boys, Dick Patterson, Gus Alazzoca, and Peter Staffon, re- ceived the honor of playing in the first Harry Agganis Memorial Game. The spirit exhibited by our team throughout the sea- son was a gratifying sight for everyone to see. It not only reflected nicely on each boy but on the whole school as well. To the hard-working coaches go congrat- ulations for developing these boys into a fine, hard- fighting team of which everyone was extremely proud. ROBERT E. COLBY Bob — Golf CATHLEEN T.
