PRO PH ECY Amid the uproar and the shouts of the fans, I sit watching a basketball game between Arlington and Morristown. However, my mind is not on the game. I am remem- bering Arlington as it was twenty years ago whenl graduated. I was in the class of '59, As I sit here, thinking about the old days , I suddenly notice that three of my classmates are here. There's Steve Kennedy. Hello, Steve. How has the last twenty years treated you? Oh, just fine. I'm the head Santa Claus at Macy's department store, and if all goes well, I may get promoted and sent to the North Pole branch. See: there's Bob Cooley with his thirteen children. Hi, Bob! How are you tonight? Oh, I'm pretty well snowed under with diapers and baby bottles. Look there: Bobby Junior just fell off the bleachers! I've got to run. My, how he has aged! He should take some of Rosemary Miller's special brand vitamin pills. Rosemary takes them and she says that they work wonders. Oh, by the way, poor Rosemary is confined to her bed. There's George Van Scyoc. I hear he's a big fashion designer in Paris. He's home on vacation. Hello, George. How are things in the fashion world ? Fashionable. Let's meet at Joyner's for a coke like the old days after the game. fLater at Joyner'sD Have you seen Jo Ann Kramer lately? Oh, yes, but her name is Bridget Barlow now. She's a fiery movie actress, and I hear that she has all the qualifications for being a star! Have you heard about Jane Kemple? She's a gun moll, shoplifter, and accomplice to Bob Baker, who is a professional safecracker. I guess they're having a bang-up time. ' Everyone in the class is proud of Jack and Fay Webb. Such sweet people! He is in the ministry and they are doing missionary work in darkest Africa. I asked them if they thought it unsafe, but they said, No, the darker, the better. Have you heard that Lynn Catt has a title? He's Mr. America, and I hear that all the girls are crazy over him. They call him Killer Catt . I took my son to the circus the other day, and I saw Kay Van Osdol there. She is billed as the fat lady, and also the elephant trainer. She said it was a wonderful occupation if she could only train the elephants not to step on her feet. One that really surprised me is Pat Wolf. Because of a broken heart over a. love affair, he has turned very studious. He is now an English professor at Harvard. I hear that he's tutoring Mrs. White's grandchildren. What nerve that Diane Stout has! She's an alligator wrestler in Florida. Those poor alligators haven't a chance. Linda Winkler is a professional witch. She spends her time riding around on a broom, making brew, and frightening innocent children. Poor little things. I hear that David Mann is having an awful time. He just secured his tenth bride. The only trouble is that he forgot to divorce the other nine. I saw Ivanna Farlow the other day. She's been spending her years riding on freight cars and eating from tin cans. She says that it's a nice occupation, except that she's too short to jump on the cars. Becky Patterson has married a mortician. She keeps house in the mortuary and has raised a bunch of fine little undertakers. I heard that Carol Buchanan is leaving soon for her vacation. She is going to be the first lady to go to the moon. They say that she's a demon in a rocket ship! Oh, here comes Jim Emmons. I guess it was meant for Jimmy to be the black- sheep and Don Juan of the class. Of course, he isn't used to working. Now he's only a bum, but he sure makes a hit with the girls. Time really flies when you are reminiscing. It's time to bug out , as we used to say. But maybe in another twenty years, we can all come together from our different walks of life, and meet again.
