CLASS HISTCRY It all started one sunny day August 29, 1947, when thirteen little boys and girls marched proudly up the stairs to the first grade. The school has never been the same. Sitting at her desk, almost no bigger than the rest of us, was Mrs. Frances Pitts, who very patiently pulled us through the first grade. During the next several years, our little march-ing group steadily progressed to higher education. To help us with our education were the never tiring, always under- standing teachers, Mrs. Vera Mae Pitts, Mrs. Alexander and Mrs. Pike. In these years, Carolyn Six, Richard Andis, Sherry Nickles, Patricia Wilder, Don Roberts, Preston Thompson, James Hiner, Mark Stockwell, Bessie Noble, Ruth Enyart, Richard Paul, Tony Hauntz, Nancy Earnest, David Mann, and Jim Emmons came and all departed except Jim and David. ln 1955, we enteredhigh school lookingforward to initiation, but something happened, perhaps we were too tough for themg anyway, initiation never developed. We elected our class officers who were: President, Nancy Earnestg Vice-President, JoAnn Kramerg Secretary, Linda Winkler, Treasurer, Jim Emmons. Mrs. Potts was our sponsor. The highlight of our Sophomore year was choosing class rings. We sponsored a formal Valentine Dance, the first event of this kind for our school. Decorating was lots of fun and the dance was more of a success than we had anticipated. Four more members joined our class, they were: Carol Buchanan, Rosemary Miller, George VanScyoc and Jack Webb. Our class officers were: President, JoAnn Kramerg Vice-President, Linda Winklerg Secretary, Bob Cooleyg Treasurer, Rosemary Miller. Mr. Hine was our sponsor. The Junior year was the year for which we had been waiting. lt brought fun, but also work-making money for our Senior trip. We presentedaplay entitled Beans For Breakfast. We also gave a skit, Baby Blues. Winning first prize was helped considerably by our two babies, Jim and Jack. This year our class officers were: President, Bob Cooley, Vice-President, JoAnn Kramerg Secretary, Carol Buchanang Treasurer, Jim Emmonsg with Mrs. White as our sponsor. We had one new member, Bob Baker. Our marching group finally reached its goal. We were Seniors! We chose Mrs. White for our sponsor. The officers were: President, Pat Wolf, Vice-President, Bob Cooley: Secretary, Linda Winkler, Treasurer, JoAnn Kramer. This year was a busy year for us, we had many things to accomplish. We presented another play and pro- duced our Rambler. Our big event was the Senior Trip. Then last but not least came our Graduation. Eleven of our nineteen completed all twelve Wonderful years together.
