We wondered if there would ever be a time when we should all be together again, but no one knew what the future might bring. After fifteen years had elapsed, here we were, the class of '47, gathered at the Alumni Banquet. Some were hardly recognizable, others were about the same. During the dinner no one had much chance to talk, espe- cially John Nelson and John Winslow, who over the years had not lost their love for food. After the dinner was finished, Bobby Dale Gardner, the President of our class of '47, asked if it would not be proper for everyone to tell of his exper- iences since he or she had left Arlington High. Flrst in line was John Winslow, who was leading an exciting life running a night-club in Chicago. He had been sloth-like in school, W but, when the time had come for an awakening, . he had made up for lost time. lx .Then arose Robert veatch, known as 'Tony Spattz' to the followers of his Jazz band. At the present time he had a two weeks, engage- xx!! ment at the Red Ricardo, owned by John Winslow. No one was surprised at being a band leader, because he had played a 'hot sax' while in school. Qlr ' Next came Lois Mitchell, who had led the first ten years of her life as an old maid, but had finally succeeded in getting a diamond out of that certain someone, and had settled 'Fr to the task of rearing a family. Q! I I Rosemarie Orme told of her life. The first five years were spent as a farmer's wife. But growing bored with farm life, she Joined Tony 5pattz's band, and became a 'torch S1nger'. She is engaged to Tony Spattz. iliiliiiiiiiifgiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
