College among other opportunities, awaited the graduating seniors, who looked forward to new and different experiences. The month of October signified the beginning of the Homecoming festivities. The choosing of the Home- coming King and Queen, the building of the senior float, and finally, the Homecoming dance, all had a special significance for seniors of 1970-'71. This year's senior class board was very busy, under the leadership of its sponsors, Mr. Schroeder and Miss Hampton, and President Bill Wolod, Vice-Presi- dent Sue Lasher, Secretary Mary Beth Schroeder, and Treasurer joan Smith. Only a few of the activities which were undertaken by the class of '71 were the selling of senior buttons, the senior float in the tradi- tional Homecoming parade, and the selling of the Card Power shirts. However, the Christmas Ball was the highlight of the year for most seniors, and during the weeks before the dance, many a senior could be seen scurrying about, planning and making the prepar- ations for the main event of the winter months. There were decorations to be made, and food and a band to be obtained, which kept the class of '71 busy, without a moment to rest. As spring drew near, many members of the class of '71 thought of the excitement of the prom, which would bring an end to their four years at Arlington, and, they would now have to face new experiences and opportunities which awaited them after graduation.
