Punctual ecretaries Practice Their B C's As Mrs. Wolff awaits more work with which to busy herself, she ponders upon an old cliche, secretary's work is never done. Bored was a word that the AHS secretaries did not have time to stop and contemplate. Answering the never-ending jobs of attendance sheets, admit- tance procedures, classroom preparations, mailroorn announcements, and correspondence, the skillful sec- retaries met the challenge of their work with zest. Mrs. Gast and the many other helpful secretaries completed the tasks that filled their weeklong hours to help the faculty, students, and other personnel function with ease. Again this year the Arlington cooks have been able to bring pleasure to the hungry multitudes. Under the direction of head cook, Mrs. Hill, and district sup- ervisor, Mrs. Woolsencroft, new foods such as malt- ed milks were added to the variety of dishes from salad to dessert being provided for the larger lunch shifts. To serve the students more efficiently, a new hot line with lunches in a basket was offered a- long with the traditional cookie line and ever-expand ing candy line. Magnificent appearance throughout - these were the words that the Arlington High School custodians strived to accomplish. Washing and waxing endless stretches of floor was only one of the many odd jobs performed by the hard-working custodial staff. Ser- vices, such as continuous heat and light, that are tak- en for granted by most, were accomplished by the competent men and women. The custodial staff under the direction of Mr. Leark, put in many long tedious hours of work in order to maintain the high stan- dard of cleanliness in the halls of Arlington.
