Autumn happiness and enthusiasm reign while spirited seniors Sherrie Cook and Debbie Lenhardt exclaim delight over Sharon's magnificent white and red Homecoming mum. 8 Run between those raindrops! advised AHSers, because even the weeks wet and wild weather could not dampen their sunny Homecom- ing spirit. At Coronation the ten- sion in the air mounted during the emotion-filled candidate pres- entation and exploded into tears and shouts of happiness as Master of Ceremonies G. Michael Rieder dramatically crowned King Wil- liam Heffernan and Queen Gail Collins. The multitude then hur- ried through the drizzle to the streets' edges and watched their melting floats and the damp '59 Court splash by in the parade. That night at the game, clad in raincoats and protected by unbrel- las, the Royal Court and faithful Cardinal fans braved the drench- ing storm and watched the Fal- cons beat the Cards. The Home- coming dance, Summers Echo, cli- maxed the week's gala festivities. x

Later, caution is thrown to the winds as floats Qabovej are uncovered for the afternoon parade. Cards have high hopes of rising up, up, and away from those fighting Falcons as dem- onstrated Qleftj by one homecoming float. Ulf I had a hammer fabovej I'd beat those Falcons into the soggy turf. The Cards may lose the hammer, but never the spirit.
