The secretaries in the mail room sorted all mail and took teachers' dictation. Writing letters, making out state and county reports, and operating the switchboard and P. A. system were the duties of the secretaries in the Superintendent's Office. The Business Office took care of all expenses and pay- rolls, banked funds, and made schedules for school buses. Voeational decisions and the ehoiee of college by seniors also required guidance by the Class counselors. Other duties included contacting parents and teachers regarding student progress. problems, and development: assisting with the administration and interpretation ol' stanclarclifecl testsg interviewing students who received notiees ol' unsatisfactory progress: and tending to indi- vidual program Changes. In addition to this each counselor taught two academic classes per day and six counseling classes every week. Rounding out an already busy sched- ule counselors assisted with the supervision of student after- sehool aetivities. and sponsored the Class boards. Class counselors this year included Mrs. Stewart, Mr. Lester. and Mr. Serfling, freshman counselors: Miss Craig and Mr. Cashen. sophomore counselors: MI's. Behrend and Mr. Arehambault, junior counselors: and Miss Hampton and Mr, Wfhiteside. senior eounselors. Personal and social eounseling this year at Arlington and Prospect was furnished by Miss Ethel Riordan and Mr. .lohn Strong. These Hvisiting Counselors worked with stu- dents eoneerning home and social problems, whereas Class counselors gave gnidanee pertaining to sehool problems. l Amused by anties of Prospect High freshmen are eounselors Mrs. H.
