Mr. Nelson Lowry and Mr. Carl Nelson have more in common than a nameg they are deans of Arlington and Prospect High School buildings. qMfA me Cpeins G cmanagemenf gn an Yes, this is Arlington High School . . . answers Mr. John Schaff, Business Administrator, who keeps increasing school costs in ehcck. I0 What is it that made the inner mechanism of the Ar- lington High School tick ? It wasn't the IBM machine, as a legend had it. Neither could the secret be found in rows of filing cabinets or in stacks of student handbooks. The solution to the mystery became evident only when the administrators of the two buildings were mentioned. Arlington had Dr. Eugene Oliver as its chief adminis- trator. Serving in the same position at Prospect was Mr. Alvin Kulieke, MA. Their main duties were SL1pC1'- vision of the instructional programs of the school, training teachers and assigning school duties to them, and main- taining good public relations with the community. Mr. Bruno Wfaara, BLA., as administrative assistant at Arlington, took charge of student activities, while at Prospect, Mr. Larry -lenness, M.A., carried out these duties which included supervision of the student councils. During the course of the year, deans Nelson Lowry, M.A., at Arlington, and Carl Nelson, M.A., at Prospect, handled all student problems, from sawing locks off lock- ers and taking appropriate action in cases of misconduct and truancy, to maintaining student-faculty co-operation. Waiting for an elusive bus that never came? While students only had to worry about one bus, Mr. John Sehaff, M.A., was concerned with providing bus transportation for both the Arlington and Prospect buildings. As business manager, he also planned and supervised the night school program, checked on maintenance needs and problems, and handled all financial matters concerning both buildings.
