FRCSH WELCU ED Eight hundred strong. the class of '60 inarched into Arlington High. Septelnher el. Maps in hand. they scur- ried through the halls. getting hooked on various wires, stepping into plaster and paint buckets. and discovering to their horror that the workmen had set up equipment in front of their lockers. They soon heczune acquainted with the social life of the school at the freshman party. given bv the Student Council the first weekend. Games. dancing. and refresh- tnents highlighted the evening. 'l'wo weeks after school startedi the class elected from their homerootns a class hoard. Next in line came the first high school election for the freshmen, in which they chose as their class officers Richard Johnston. president: Carol Kasl. vice president: Nancy XICCOlIllJ: secretary: and .lane Hertel, treasurer. Ainicl the sea of coats. boots. hats, and tnittens at the coat-checking concessions. the freshman class again were working hard to serve the school during all home basket- ball games. As the freshmen look hack over the activities of the year. they may be asking themselves. Did I really do that?,' or saving. l sure acted like a typical freshman!
