Ifor our next gatne we traveled to McComb, where we inet one ol' the powerhouses ol' the leagtte. Arlington led 7-ti at halltitne: but the McComb boys went ahead I3-7 in the third quarter. It was in the last quarter that Arlington covered a AIcContb luntble in the end-lone lor the tieing touchdown. 'I'he final score was Arlington I3 - lNlcCo1nb ISS. The lollowing week the Red Devils inet a lavored Arcadia eleven on the Arlington gridiron, Init the tztstbtmpawittg Red Devils rolled over the visitors 27-0. A week later Coach Castor and his crew traveled to Liberty and tronnced the inexperienced liagles -I8-tl. On October I8 Arlington traveled to Cory-Rawson to play what proved to be the game ol' the year lor the Red Devils, since the championship was at stake lor both teatns. Arlington, getting oll' to a slow start in the lirst quarter, cante back in the second quarter to score ti points, and stay ahead for a hall'-tiine score ol' ti-Il. Cory4Rawson, boasting the best offense in the county, cattle out in the third quarter and scored a touchdown hy way ol' an Arlington luntble on the Red Devil 25-yard line to take the lead ol' 7-ti at the ettd ol' three quarters. But it was late in the lourth quarter that Arlington exploded with their new spread lortnation. The Red Devils marched 60 yards down the held, and the Hornets were ballled when the Castorians crossed the goal line lor the gatne-winning touchdown. Iiinal score Arlington I8 H Cory-Ravvson 7.
