The Final Excursions: You've Come A Long Way! Excitement, fun and a little bit of fear was present in the hearts of the 1981 senior class as they stood in the Hilton Brown Theotron at Butler University, and waited to be given one of the highest honors a high school student can receive - a diploma. They all lsnew it would be a night to remember, but still, there was an air of sadness as they would soon be former Golden Knights, Family and friends alilse watched as the students proudly stepped on the stage to accept their diplomas that they worlsed for four years to obtain. Yes, June 4, 1981 was a rewarding day for many. Bruce Dasson, who was the senior class valedictorian, tools a place in the spotlight as he made a final speech to his peers. And of course, Pat Gord' ner made a few closing comments to the class she worked for as Senior Class President. For every member of the graduating closs, the highlights of being a senior came to an end through the memorable commencement of 1981. Decorated with streamers and fancy tables, St, Peters Clover Center, proved to be ci memora- ble setting for the 1981 Junior!Senior Prom. The last school sponsored event before gradu- ation, the Prom turned out to be an enchant- ing evening filled with fun, dancing, and social- izing. One of the highlights ofthe Prom was the crowning of the King, Queen, Prince, and Prin- cess. Votes for the Royal Couples were taken as students entered. Farley Pounds turned out to be Prom King, Tracy Kerr was crowned Queen, Junior, Kim Ketchlsa recalls how she felt when crowned Prom Princess, l was really surprised! l though someone else would win. The Prom will always be worth waiting for. After two to three years of being an under- classman, one really has a feeling of esteem. 1Qf6raduation Above, Bringing the ceiling down . . .
