yr | » eG Spirit Boosts Gridders to State Playoffs « Towering spirit and ——— enthusiasm bolstered the Mighty Jacket football team to a perfect 10-0 record in district play. Spirit groups, energetic class members and faculty, and overall school pride also helped to support the team to a victory in bi-district. Again the SOH Spirit Cup was awarded at the pep rally each week to the class with the most spirit. Pe Summing it all up, Gary Williams’ jersey exemplifies, ''We're number one! Homecoming Dance Brings Disco to Hill Homecoming was definitely one of the highlights of the football season. Hall decora- tions defined the spirit and enthu- siasm of the week. The Juniors came out on top of the other classes with their artistic endeav- ors. The big game was a give- away as the mighty Jackets bull- dozed their way to a 26-6 win over the Paschal Panthers. Halftime was filled with excitement as the club sweethearts, accompanied by their escorts, proceeded onto the field. Homecoming Queen, Laurie Maxwell, was presented with her court, Rhonda Goins, Princess, and Anne Sherrod, Duchess. Homecoming week ended with a dance held at Roundup Inn. John Bail and Mark Swinnea shock their dates by revealing that they don't like the music and don't know how to dance. Mike Henson and Robin Mize show their joy as the A Picasso painting displayed on the third floor portrays three J.V. football players | band plays the Mozart sonata they requested. warming the bench during a game. . 22 Homecoming
