Changes Spotlight Homecoming 1986 King Dan Weinand and Queen Kelli KJeist were in the homecoming spotlight for the whole week as the coronation was changed to Tuesday evening. An evening program allowed more adults to attend. During the week the rain poured but it didn’t dampen the homecoming spirit. Students participated in activities such as class volleyball, lip sync, powder puff football, and tug-o’-war. Students had a chance to dress up as teachers, wear jerseys, caps and shades, and clashing clothes. The A-GI volleyball team overcame the Montgomery Redbirds winning three out of five games on Thursday evening to start a winning spirit. Another new feature was that students were allowed to decorate floats on Friday morning. The style of float changed to a decorated pick-up because of the unavailability of a hay wagon. On Friday afternoon there was a pep rally in the gym with a parade following. The Sibley East Bengals met the Le Sueur Giants with a crowning victory of 40-22. A dance follow- ed featuring a DJ with pop and rock music. 1. Pat Connolly was MC for the coronation ceremony on Tuesday evening and the pep rally on Friday afternoon. 2. 1. Laura Schneider dresses up like Mr. Baker on Teacher Look- Alike Day. 2. The eighth-graders Mike Hennies, Jim Mueller, John Reilly, and Troy Breycr make use of small space for the float. 3. Robert Good shows school spirit by wearing stripes and checks on Clash Day. 4. Thorsten Bergmann and Nao Doi pull valiantly for a victory in the tug-’o-war contest. 5. Seventh-graders Michelle Krentz and Marcy Hultgren show us the meaning of homecoming. 6. The football players float along in the parade on Friday afternoon. 7. The Preppy-Massacre Band featuring Lori Pioske, Becky Thiesfeld, Stacy Alsleben, Stacy Meyers, and Dodi Barflcnecht came back as the returning champions from Lip-Sync 1985. 8. King Dan Weinand and Queen Kelli Kleist take their places on the throne after the coronation Tuesday evening. Homecoming-7
