Zoom in on a rural community, and imagine the variety of people that inhabit it. No doubt you’ll picture Arlington or Green Isle, and the people — you and me. There’s a strong bond in a small town which can be seen through the closeness of the people, especially in the crowded halls of school. You can walk down the corridors any school day and name most, if not all of the people you bump into or see. Recognizing these people at a glance you probably know what kind of a character they are. Teachers influenc- ed through the bonding effect relate to the students and blend in like just another student struggling to learn. Learn- ing is much easier and self-satisfying when you know that the teachers care whether you pass or fail (though that hasn’t been proven yet). You’re not just a name or a number on a piece of paper. After the big games the excitement at Beanies lingers in the atmosphere. Local businessmen and classmates can often be seen shaking one of the player’s hands or giving him or her a pat on the back for a job well done. Weekend activities revolve around fellow classmates, whether it’s cruising the drag, going to the local flick, or traveling to catch a glimpse at Shaw. As most everyone will agree, the land of A-Gl may not be the most exciting town ever known, but it sure is interesting.

The beginning of school was a sad time and a happy time. Students were coming back from a summer filled with memories and hopes. School was improved by remodeling the lab and redecorating the gym. A-GI had an enrollment of 395 in grades 7-12 for the 83-84 school year. IT’S BACK TO SCHOOL FOR 395 A-GI HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS 1. School stands waiting for the crowds of kids to fill its halls. 2. Amy Brown and Dawn Weinand took advantage of being able to wear shorts to school in the 90 degree + temperatures. 3. The seniors are confused as to where to go after 12 years. 4. Dana Stoeckman gets life guarding instructions from Mr. Pat Baker and Mr. Dan Hislop. 5. Outdoor classes were a familiar sight during the school days of September. 5
