That's what they all said- alumni, faculty, students, parents, and townfolk. The opening event--the pep fest, with coaches, players, and alums speaking--was the best yet.1' Then, the mammoth bonfire, started by our football captain, Denny Plieseis, was the biggest ever. Next, the assembly was the most colorful ever. Our Homecoming Queen? Marcia Hanson, Senior, from Green Isle. Her two maids of honor were Seniors Mardelle Matz and Arlene Comnick, both of Arlington. After the assembly came the traditional Homecoming Parade. And, once again, it was unanimous. More floats than ever before, and more outstanding floats than in previous years. The evening brought much homecoming happiness; we swamped Belle Plaine, 34-6, in an exciting football game. The climax came with the Homecoming Dance, following the game. More alums than ever before. Everybody outdid himself; everybody had fun. Yes, the best ever. That was the 1958 Homecoming. 65 Junior Class Play RUNNING WILD A Farce in Three Acts by Glenn Hughes Thursday, Friday, November 13-14, 1958 66 Christmas CONCERT presented by Arlington Grade and Junior-SeniorHigh Schools December 17, 1958 Musical Directors: Mrs. Elsie Mae Jensen and Mr. Robert Hallquist Christmas Greetings; Sleigh Ride Teddy Bears' Picnic; Yuletide Festival..........................................Band Jolly Old St. Nicholas; Santa Claus............................................Grade 1 Away in the Manger; Santa Claus Will Soon Be Here..............................Grade 2 Christmas Alphabet; I Heard the Bells..........................................Grade 3 Bethlehem.....................................................Grade School Sextette Christmas Lullaby Go Tell It On the Mountain...................................Grade 4 Lullaby on Christmas Eve; White Christmas......................................Grade 5 Bell Song; March of the Three Kings Christmas Caroling Song; Day of Wonder.........................................Grade 6 O Come, O Come Emmanuel When Christmas Morn Is Breaking..........................Grade School Mixed Chorus Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.............................High School Girls Sextette O Holy Night; The Virgin's Slumber Song..........................Girls' Glee Club Ding-Dong!
