Text from Pages 1 - 112 of the 1983 volume:

Remember then When we were young Loving life and having fun Making friends and playing hard Facing school, the longest yard Growing older, growing tall Trying then to do it all. Now we're leaving school behind We've lost a youth we'll never find Though the many things we've never done Some of the regretable The love we've shared, with friends who cared With friends who really cared. It's truely unforgettable. 2 Patrick Purcell 3 The reason why we are dedicating this annual, is to show our apprecia- tion to a teacher. The kindergarten class got off to a good start this year. They had a real good teacher to teach them the basic things that they needed to learn while they are still young. The children were able to go to Arlington Kennles in the Arlington Heights area to see what Mrs. Croad keeps dogs. They were also able to go to her home. Some of the dogs at the kennels are probably as big or bigger than them. Going to the zoo was another big event for them. The children are always exci- ted to go to the library. They were able to go there this year. Singing like the birds sing. 19 Jody Barger Chris Barnett Josiah Bartlett Hollie Bray Terry Campbell Michelle Cole Katie Ferris Caleb Gott Brandon Klein Shane Lamie Heather Lanting Tagan Lehman Scott Oertle Jacob Omlid Seth Park Kevin Roberts 20 : FIRST GRADE: During the course of the year, the First Graders did some exciting things. The first quarter, they were invited to Mrs. Harris' home for dinner.Going to their teacher home must have been a special night for them. The second and third quar- ter was filled with fun also. The children had a field trip to the Woodland Park Zoo. They had fun looking at all those Big and little animals. After all that walking they did, they were ready to go home and take a nap. They also went to the Country Charm Dairy. They learned how the cows are milked and also how the milk gets from the dairy to the local store. The last quarter of the year they were able to go to the Arlington Public Library. They got to go there and check out books once a week. That's where the children had a bigger opportunity to read better, (besides from school). That is what they did in the school year of 1982-83. BOY! What a surprising look. 21 John Andringa Dane Brooks Kevin Bussard Allison Butterfield Corey Gott Jennifer Hansen Katrina Haugen John Hoad Daniel Koester Michael Lee Chelsey Leyde Lee Martin Jon Millenaar Scott Oertle Rachel Parker Heidi Rawlins Stephanie Richardson Bryan Sass Kenny Schuurman Mike Thuline 22 saaaĀ®e Visiting the Convelesent Center ro Welcome Zxd Grade (X Mrs Brian VanBeek Cole Younger Mrs. Kanehen Jennifer Beak Kendra Berg Traci Boersema Karen Boyer Kathy Boyer Thomas Cole Jimmy Ferris Jason Graczyk Patricia Harmon Shawna Jury Andrew Klein Jacob Koester Jennifer Koster Kimberly Mani Kristina Moore Andrea Sass Renee Schakel Melinda Scheufele Nathan Selin Ida Sytsma 24 THIRD GRADE Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. berve the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. At the start of the year they had a mini-reatreat at the school. They stayed over night and had lots of fun. They were able to cook their own meals and get to know each other a little better. A visit to the Synagogue was an exciting time.A Synagogue is a Jewish Church. On that Feild trip they also visited the Burke Museum. Seeing all kinds of diffrent animals that have been perserved for hundreds of years. Visiting their adopted grandparents at the Convelesent Center, was exciting for both young and old alike. Each time the children went to the Center their grandparent had a fun time talking to them. They were able to see them once a month. During the Christmas Season they were able to go and see a performance titled A Christmas Carol . That took place down in Seattle. The children were also in a performance them- selves. They did the same one that they had a opportunity to see. They did very well in doing it. They went on a three day trip to the capital,01ympia, on down to Vancouver and then to Fort Clatsop. fit' FINE ARTS MINI CLASSES Seth Anderberg Rich Boersema Rebecca Bray Kevin Brenitnan Doug Burton Lisa Byle Jared Cooper Michelle Hansen David Hodges Crystal Hodges Josie Keith Kelly Mani Heinie Matthiesen Darren McClure Alan Nelson Paul Phillips Theresa Rusher John Scheffer Todd Shullenberg Kathy Schuurman 34 35 Angie Andrews David Andringa Angela Breniman Carol Bundy Jason Byle Dan Cooper Michele Ferris Leah Grazyk Scott Hahn Sonya Hahn Beth Harris Dana Holland Russell Longdon Patti Rhoads Brent Scattum Ron Schakel Jim Sinnema Dale Smythe Charlene Stanley Clarence VanBeek 36 Tim Anderson Amy Becker Kenny Boyer Angela Brooks Darcy Caldwell Chuck Dachenhausen Sandy Danner Jim Engell David Epperson Heather Haugen Donna James Scott Kuempel Kelli Oertle Andy Phillips Tim Platt Carla Salsbury Chris Selin Ken Sinnema Kyle Thompson Marian VanKlaveren 38 IS L—L, BP BP (5) Ā© Ā© v Not Shown 4 f i Shauna Vernal Brent Walser Bob Witheridge Mrs. Rockhill A.C.S. hi Ev.
