HI TORY In September of 1940 frfteen of us started on our way up the ladder of learning Our first grade teacher M1ss Malbaum now Mrs Tennet panently gave us our first brt of learning These brave flfteen were Nontta Kennell Joan l-lurlbut June Bancroft Janet Benrung Mrrlam Wrlkens Vrrglnra Ellrs Myrtle Krug Evelyn Wlng Mrtzr and Maureen Howe Loretta and Lorrarne McM1chael The few boys cortsrsted of Thomas Beach Dean Platt who now rs our worthy presrdent and last but not least Jerry Wyant Mtss Chamberlarn now Mrs Wrlson whom we 311 lrked guided us through our second year Dorothy Rhone from Fremont Jomedus 1n the thrrd grade and from Long Island came Charles Wulforst We also was Jorned by our now star athelete Rodney Baker Mrss Keanng who taught us the art of readlng and wrlting was our teacher In the fourth grade under the drcrpling eye of M1ss MacM1nn we garned a Jolly lrttle gul from Beachvllle Lucrlle Sutftn The frfth grade proved to be a lot of fun under the drrecuon of Mrs Babcock and 1n the same year Richard Wrlkens Jomed our group Under the teachrngs of M1ss Henderson rn the srxth grade we completed our grammer school days In tlus grade we obtarned our blonde cheerleader R1ta Norton from Alfred Almond A big healthy boy came to us from Elmira by the name of Ronald Wellrugton Rose Bancroft and Carl Young increased our group to twenty four Miss Colhns our homeroom teacher helped us welcome Beatrice Emo from Wayland ln our eighth year Mr Barnard helped us through the d1ff1cult1es of regents From Hornell we acquired curly haired Everett Holllster and dark eyed Jean Murphy who surprxsed us all w1th her knowledge Twenty erght of us breathed a slgh of relref and stepped proudly 1nr.o I-lrgh School Agnes Magxnley Jorned us there from Dansville and helped our Art department greatly Our Sophomore year proved fun as we had the Joy of imtating the Freshman Now belng Juruors we felt frrmly establrshed and qurte important belng rn Htgh School Our rce cream and candy sales proved to be a lot of fun and successful Dick Hitt rejoined us from Harpersvrlle th1s year Thrs made our class the whole sum of thlrty wluch we are proud to say 15 the largest Semor class rn the history of A C S Our Semor Play also proved successful w1th lots of hard work and fun Our magazine campargn was also most successful Now we are lookmg forward wrth great antrcrpanon to our Senior Trrp and the great moment of graduauon School has been lots of fun and work and we wtll never forget our wonderful nmes at A C S , . s 1 ' 1 ' u u 1 1 n 1 1 u 1 - 1 1 1 1 - , 1 , . . , . , . 1 n , . l X . . . . , , . 1 1 ' , . . - 1 f n p ' ..- ug.
