J - ! (THE AGRICOI =0L il It shall be my purpose to live to render service. Life is hard. I will watch for a chance to give a lift to those about me. Deeds of mercy I will do. In my daily vocation I will seek to so do what 1 am called upon to do, that it shall be saturated with the spirit of spon- taneous kindness and illuminated with gladness. I shall try to brighten the corner where I am. Cheery greetings with a smile and a bit of banter in the spice of life I will throw in, as I go down my way. It shall be my high resolve to be where great things are being undertaken, and I shall do my part- Great deeds as well as kindly ones shall be part of my life. Action shall be my purpose. I shall spurn indifference. I shall seek to back up my words with deeds. It shall be my high purpose to fill the niche in life intended for me and to do all in my power to be a help to all about me. — Selected. ri 1927 qT

(theagricoi ■a Junior College Sophomore The Class of 1928 has passed another mile post in its relay toward the distant goal of graduation. What a year ago ap- peared mere specks on a dim horizon are gradually taking the shape of progress. During the fall term Sophomores could be found fighting their way for first honors on the football team, while numerous others not quite so lucky, or rather who chose other fields of work, were bounding ahead as So])homores should. Several members of the Sophomore class have done their preparatory work in the Arkansas Polytechnic College, while others have come from reputable high schools and colleges of this and adjoining states. The class thus far has taken an increasing important role in the affairs of the following years. Almost one hundred per cenl of last year ' s Freshmen have gloriously survived the persecutions they were ruthlessly subjected to, and are back on the job, demonstrating to the other classes that it is a survival of the fittest, and making them regret that they ever nagged, slammed, rebuked and per- secuted last year ' s Freshmen. The result is this peppy, en- thusiastic, ever excelling life, a new and brighter star on the horizon of Tech school life. dH) c
