ALMA MATER All Hail! Our grand finale! We pay our homage here To you, Old Alma Mater: Stand ready hy our bier. We take our stand tomorrow In a world that knows us not To bear the joys and sorrows, To labor under lot. You lived before we came You ' ll live when we have passed. But of our list of names We hope that some will last As having made a gesture, Within some passing year, Which, when called to recollection, Might bring some friendly tear. We now ring down the curtain We now yield up the helm. It is not ours for certain What lies in future ' s realm. But Time presents the issue. It is but ours to bow. Alma Mater, we ' re going to miss you: Goodbye! We ' re leaving now! —J. L. SWINDLE
