aying Tribute . ., . Because she is the junior United States Senator from Arkansas; because she holds an honorary degree from Arkansas State College; because she has done more for our College than any other single individual, and because she is a worthy successor to a worthy predecessor, her late husband, the Honorable Thaddeus H. Caraway, is this book, The 1937 Indian, dedicated to United States Senator Hattie W. Caraway. Mrs. Caraway has provided Arkansas State College with many advantages. The Reserve Officers ' Training Corps Regi- ment, for instance, is one of her major contributions to the progress of the College. She has always been ready to aid when help is needed; and, most notable, too, is the fact that her good work has not been done for political purposes, but because she has the best interests of the institution in her heart. Most of her work has been done out of the public view. The editors are proud to dedicate this edition of the Arkansas State College Indian to Mrs. Caraway. We feel that of all the people connected with the College directly or indirectly United States Senator Hattie W. Caraway is the most deserving of this honor.
