It was a tragic ending: yet her schoolmates made this town proud. During that long wait when doctors do everything possible and a minute stretches into an hour, those young friends of Ar- leta called on the greatest Doctor to lend His hand. Nearly every hour little groups of classmates would leave their waiting place and go to the hospital chapel. There they would pray for their frlend's recovery. These young people displayed the same faith that often ls associated only with adults It was refreshing to know too that no one could have been more serious than these youngsters Ordmarlly there is galety when young folks gather This was not the case at the hospital Somehow these young friends understood the clr cumstances Even nurses whose time ls precious on occasions like this and who must make every step count noticed this group of younglsters Never were they in the way At a l times their actions were perfect This ls the story of young people in a different light. Arleta never knew about her friends on that last night. Few persons dld. It was a sad and shocking close to a young life . Here, ,though, ls something to re- member in the name of a young girl She proved that among the coming generation there are close friendships and they too, have an abldlng faith 'n God . Because she lived, the young person has been put ln a new light. 59. K 1' . pedestal ln the library. The edltor o p - V ' x Q g e s I v , ' I
