EXECUTIVE OFFICER CDR David C. Ray Commander David C. RAY was born m South Bend, Indiana on 1 » April l°4o He attended Kedford High School in Detroit, Michigan and Harvard College - graduating in 1 o8 He received hie commission as an Ensign at Officer Candidate School in Oc° and immediately reported to USS VOCE (DE-1047) for a tour of duty as Main Propulsion Assistant. His next assignment was to the staff of Commander Destroyer Squadron TEN as Material Officer. In 1 72. he entered the Naval Nuclear Power Program with training in Bambridge, Maryland and West Milton. New York This training was followed by duty on the pre-commissioning crew of USS SOUTH CAROLINA (DLCN-37) where he served as Main Propulsion Assistant Following a toui as an instructor at the DlG Prototype in West Milto . New York, Commander RAY reported to USS BAINBRIDGE (CGbKZS) in 1070 for a three year tour as Engineer Officer. In 1 2. he was assigned to the staff of the Director. COMMAND MASTER CHIEF SKCM(SW) Donnly G. Mullins Master Chief Storekeeper Surface Warfare Qualified Donnly C. Mullins was born 28 May 194S in Fargo, North Dakota He began his military career in the U.S. Navy 29 May 19o2 He completed bootcamp at San Diego at the age of 17 and was sent to USS SAFEGUARD (ARS-25) assigned as a Boatswain's Mate where he worked with divers. The Master Chief, upon completion of his first enlistment, was sent to Store- keeper A school October 19o5 prior to Survival Escape Resistance Evasion (SERE) training, for further transfer to Danang. Vietnam. During his career. Master Chief Mullins has served in USS SAN JOSE (AFS-7) for two tours. Fleet Material Assistance Group (FMAG) Alameda. Ca., Naval Technical Training Center (NTTC) Jacksonville. Fla,. Naval Technical Training Center (NTTC) Treasure Island. Ca as a Leadership Management Education and Training (LMET) course instructor Master Chief Mullins completed a course of instruction at the Senior Enlisted Academy. Newport. R.I.. and the Human Resource Management School. Naval Air Station Memphis, Tn . prior to his assignment to USS ARKANSAS (CGN-41). In addition to the Enlisted Surface Warfare (ESVVS) badge, the Master Chief wears the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal. Navy Mentious Unit Commendation Medal. R ’N Meritious Unit Commendation Civic Action Medal, Five Good Conduct Awards. Navy Unit Commendation Ribbons, the National Defense Service Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal, the Navy Sea Service Ribbon - with three bronze stars. Battle E” with two bronze stars, and the Humanitarian Service Medal Master Chief Mullins is married to the former Bonnie Jean Lightner of Almira, New York. They have two sons and one daughter. 4
