EXECUTIVE OFFICER CDR David C. Ray Commander David C. RAY was born m South Bend, Indiana on 1 » April l°4o He attended Kedford High School in Detroit, Michigan and Harvard College - graduating in 1 o8 He received hie commission as an Ensign at Officer Candidate School in Oc° and immediately reported to USS VOCE (DE-1047) for a tour of duty as Main Propulsion Assistant. His next assignment was to the staff of Commander Destroyer Squadron TEN as Material Officer. In 1 72. he entered the Naval Nuclear Power Program with training in Bambridge, Maryland and West Milton. New York This training was followed by duty on the pre-commissioning crew of USS SOUTH CAROLINA (DLCN-37) where he served as Main Propulsion Assistant Following a toui as an instructor at the DlG Prototype in West Milto . New York, Commander RAY reported to USS BAINBRIDGE (CGbKZS) in 1070 for a three year tour as Engineer Officer. In 1 2. he was assigned to the staff of the Director. Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program Commander RAY reported to USS AFUy Nj AS in May 19 5. Commander RAY s wife. Laura, is a native of Mt KiscofKlewrYork. They have one child. Patrick. ' f
