While we have attempted to advance in all of these areas, we have succeeded to the greatest degree in our trans- fer program. lt is my belief that AWC will improve over the next ten years as we strive to in- crease our efforts in the voca- tional, technical, developmental, and guidance areas Dr.WilliamJ.Berg Vice-P resident DISTRICT GOVERNING BOARD John A. Dr. Robert H. Garin became the third president in AWC's 10 year history in July when he replaced Dr. George L. Hall, who was named Executive Director of the Arizona State Board of Directors forCommunity Colleges. Dr. Garin received his Doctor of Edu- cation degree from the University of Arizona. Formerly, he was Dean of ln- dian River Community College at Ft. Pierce, Florida, and served on the Executive Board of the Florida Educa- tion Association. Arizona Western College has contributed greatly to the educational growth of Yuma County in its ten years of service. However, in the future I feel the College must expand its educational offerings throughout the county toward the goal of making commu- nity college education readily available to all citizens of Yuma County. As in the past, continued effort must be made to improve the quality of learning of our students. The goal of our instructional effort should be such that all students will be successful in their chosen field of study at Arizona Western College. DR. ROBERT H. GARIN President
