SCIENCE Ve re living in a scientific world a world in which Einsteins, Oppenheimers, and Millikans may well hold the key to human survival or extinction. Recognizing the importance of science and its contributions to society, ASC has developed an extensive department in that field, housed in the most modern laboratory of its kind in the west. Chemistry. Zoology. Botany, Biology, Physics at ASC, you have the opportunity to investigate these and other major sciences. The laboratory plays the most important part of all in the life of the scientist to be, as the intent expressions on the faces of the students below indicate. Yes, even required biology hints to less scientific students the importance of science in this uncertain world of Century 20.

AQRICULTURE ASC s agricultural department is flourishing in one of the richest agricultural areas of the west, the Salt River Valley. Some of the college ' s most energetic and worthwhile citizens are making the word Progress a symbol of real action and were doing so long before the recent approval of a four- year Agriculture program at Tempe. The old adage, learn by doing, is one closely followed by student agriculturists at ASC. On the large n earby college farm, students farm in the literal sense, and have the opportunity to study methods which will make of them the leading agri- culturists of the not too distant future.

INDUSTRIAL ARTS One of ASC ' s largest departments, Industrial Arts, like several others here, has ballooned to the point where new quarters are in demand. lA ' s most notable achievement was the construction and operation of a television camera and receiver. It was one of the first in the nation to be built in a college radio laboratory. The IA boys roll up their sleeves and have at it to make Prog- ress one of their special words.
