ADMINISTRATION The people pictured on tliis page are powerful faclors in institutional administration They are by way of being driving wheels of auxiliary engines. H. V. Batchelor is librarian. Anybody on campus this year knows what aspirin bait that office must be. what with Matthews library under going Operation Mushroom and the tomes stored in the garage. But, you know what? Nobody goes bookless. Nerve center of the market is Robert F. Menke. Employers in education and business meet in his files with the job-hungry, and happy unions result. His title is Director of Placement Bureau. That ' s a very useful agency he runs for ASC. Dwight Kool, as Principal of the Payne train- ing school, is custodian of ASC s own educational laboratory. Incipient teachers work with his real life charges to test Messers Dewey, Thorndike. Pestalozzi, et al. Mildred B. Sayre is titular Dean of Vomen of ASC. At present she is away on leave. MILDRED B. i GEORGE YATES GILBERT CADY ALFRED THOMAS, JR. George Yates, ' Pappy to his friends, and they are legion, took a few months off this year to regain his good health. He returned for the second semester to resume a demanding program of public relations and teaching. Anyone who has anything to do with college funds has come in contact with Gilbert Cady, sentry at ASC ' s pursestrings. Pass- words are feasibility and regulations. Alfred Thomas. Jr., is Registrar and Director of Admissions. Ve might just call him The Conductor. He checks you aboard, then when your destination approaches he takes another look at the ticket and sees to it personally that you go where you ' re headed. DR. FRED CRAWFORD DR. ROY C. RICE Dr. Fred Crawford is Director of the Graduate Division. He runs a whole school; one under- going heavy increases. He sees to it the Secondaries go out to their professions ready, and even more erudite than the state of Arizona requires them to be. Dr. Roy C. Rice has in his hands the new gargantua. Sum- mer Sessions. The campus is nearly as crowded near the Fourth of July as it is just before Christmas.
