Spirit Week The football cheerleaders sponsored dress up days during Homecoming week to promote school spirit. This year, Monday was inside out and backwards day, Tuesday was hat and shades day, Wednesday was 50’s day, Thursday was opposite sex day, and Friday was the traditional orange and black day. The best or most original boy and girl and teacher were selected each day. Winners received prizes at the Friday night pep rally. 6

Changes in Attitudes ... • •• • ® 'Orange Crush' is a registered trademark of Crush International. Inc. This year A.H.S. has seen some important changes. The most noticeable improvement for the better has been the attitude. General attitude about the school, its sports programs, its extracurricular activities, and the overall feeling has been more uplifting than in past years. The year of 1986 brought forth a pride towards the school, which may be attributed to the sports program adopting an “Orange Crush” ® theme. Many cheers have employed the use of these rousing words, and it seems to have had a profound impact upon the way our athletes compete. Our athletes play more determined, aggressive, and ready to win. While the Orioles may not win every game, they put forth their best effort — the effort of winners at heart — every time to live up to their “Orange Crush” ® nickname. This, in turn, spills over into the academic facet of A.H.S., and because of this, Argyle has good reason to be proud of its school system. 5
