LIBRARY Student library assistants were first organized as a club several years ago and called themselves the Shelf Shufflers. These students do their school an invaluable service. Among their duties is charging books, reshelving and shelf-reading to keep materials in proper order so they can be found immediately. Another important and never-ending job is that of processing new books; this includes accessioning, classifying, cataloging and filing cards, and the complete marking of books to ready them for the reader. Bulletin boards, mending and records are further responsibilities. Though supreme effort and accomplishment are recognized on Award Day, all these student librarians deserve a vote of thanks from the student body. One of the social activities of the club is the annual Christmas party at which all enjoy a fine meal, fun and exchange of gifts. LIBRARY OFFICERS. FIRST ROW: Mrs. Ross, advisor; Kathy Rufenacht, president. SECOND ROW: Marilyn Nelson, secretary; Mary Ann Flanagan, vice-president; Beth Bloom, treasurer. 13

DRAMATICS CLUB Dramatics has been a popular activity for many years, and this year, for the first time, a Dramatics Club has been organized under the direction of Mrs. Ross. The highlight of a very successful year was the play, Book Lovers, by John Kirkpatrick. This play received an A rating at the local contest, competing against another Argyle play, Two Crooks and a Lady, and it went on to further honors by winning A ratings at the league and district contests. We are very proud of our play group; it has been quite a number of years since a play from Argyle has gone to the sectional contest. 12
