FORENSICS Forensics is an extracurricular activity which attracts many students. These students realize its value which teaches them not only to speak more correctly but also makes them more secure in speaking before a group. There are several divisions of forensics organized in the following areas: PUBLIC ADDRESS—an original talk organized and delivered by the contestant, FOUR-MINUTE SPEECH--one written and memorized by the contestant, EXTEMPORANEOUS SPEAKING--an original speech organized within an hour time limit, ORIGINAL ORATORY—a memorized ten-minute speech written by the contestant, NON-ORIGINAL ORATORY--also a ten-minute speech but written by someone other than the contestant, INTERPRETATIVE READING—a non-memorized reading aloud of poetry, PLAY READING—a reading of a play from a script, MEMORIZED DECLAMATION--a memorized presentation of a short story, novel or play. Argyle High School prides itself in its forensics endeavors as guided by Mrs. Ross and Mrs. Ronnerud. II
