“
We hope you will enjoy this year's Highlander, now and in the years to come. The years we've spent at ACS have been both profitable and enjoyable. We wish to express our special thanks to the yearbook staff, faculty, and patrons for helping to make this another annual suc- cess. A special thanks to Mr. Evans for his help, inspiration and drive he gave us. Editor - Andi Assist Editor - Pam We, the graduating class of 1967” respectfully dedicate this yearbook to Mr. Neil Crandall. His friendship, guidance and advice has well paved our way through the future. The class of 1967 JJrincipa 7Kr. 'DucJter PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE TO THE CLASS OF 1967 There's an ancient story about a man who was getting ready to make a long journey. He called his servants to him, and to one he entrusted five talents; to another, two talents; and to another, one talent. The man who received the five talents invested them wisely, and doubled the money before the owner came back home; and, in the same way, the man who received the two talents invested them and doubled his money; but the man who had received only the one talent dug a hole in the ground and buried the money. When the owner came back, he called in the three servants. To the two servants who had used their talents wisely he said, “Well done, you are good and faithful men. You have taken care of a few things well, and now you will be made ruler over many things. But the man who had received the one talent came and said, “I was afraid, so I hid your money where it was safe and here you have what is coming to you. And the owner said, “You lazy rascal! You know I expected a return on my investment. He gave the one talent to the man with ten talents and let the one-talent man go. Now in this old story, a talent was a lot of money. The word “talent also means ability, and when a person uses his ability to the fullest extent, his ability grows and grows. What do you need to be a ten-talent man? The man who can get the small jobs done, using whatever opportunities are at hand, is likely to be picked for bigger jobs. A ten-talent man finds out. He makes himself known as a man who never boasts, never makes excuses or alibis, but who finds out. He does what, to the less persistent, seems impossible. He finds out how to find out and he gets results. You, members of the Class of 1967, are graduating from high school because you found out. Be a ten-talent man - keep finding out. ( ass Jf s fory We started out in Kindergarten with number of 47 and as we came along to this year, 1967, 14, of the original 47, are left. In second grade, we gained Peg and Sis. In fourth grade, we acquired Bruce and Linda. In fifth, one of the great years, we gained Doug. In sixth, we got Jay and Gail with Larry Becker following in seventh. In eighth, we got Nancy. In ninth, we were returned Bonnie and Craig. They left us in fifth, but since we got them back, we’re happy. We started seventh grade in a quiet sort of way; between Gary Griffin and Bob Dowmont, what else could it be. Anyone remember Mr. Rosenbaum? We do. Art had some worthwhile lessons for us. How to put our noses in a circle on the blackboard, or how to eat that delicious white paste or better yet, how to bomb the naughty people with paper wads until it hurt. It did. Ask Peg. Of course, we learned how to paint each other. Peg was the favorite target. Eighth grade was just a little quieter because we still had Bob to keep us in control. With Mr. Blake and Mr. Moore we learned a lot in English that year. How to use a Yo-yo and how to throw pocketbooks and not catch them. Right Bob? Ninth grade was begun with a flop but it got cheerier as it went along. With Miss Jones as an English teacher, we learned even more than in eighth grade English. Throw- ing gravel was the pastime of that period, and then there was Algebra, for all the good it did us. Ducking chalk or eraser, whatever it may have been, was the pastime that year. Some of us even got an eraser or two. Right Jay? The sophomore year must have been the floppiest. The only thing that happened to keep the boredom away was the fights between Sis, Gail, Chris, and Andi. It got a little vulgar, but interesting. The junior year, we were kept busy with the Prom and dances to make money. At those cold car washes, people were washed better than the cars even after our second try. Our senior year has been the greatest between McDonald's, road parties, and slid- ing parties. Of course, some people didn't think they would graduate but there was a push that went something like this, 'T got to get out of this place before I rot!!’’ I)hen T.)e 7.)ere Jounc Pam Linda Char Jennifer Pam and Doug Doug and Sharon Juanita - VH’J QS3 u Iff ) t £ nc y. r , l| w % f W gy w ;- -Cd T w C;i SI90IJJO 3uod up norj t6 fmy (j ass J rophecu TIME: June 24, 1977 PLACE: McDougall's Amusement Park (formerly The Field ) OCCASION: The 1967 Class Reunion Well, we finally made it. Someone ought to tell Bob to fix those bumps in the road. It looks like we're all here. Yep, there's T and Doug fighting over the lead part in their new song The Epic's Concerto in E 3 Minor My gosh, here comes Ron with the troopers right behind him. No, they're not chasing him. It's good ole Race Randles chasing them both! What are all these little kids doing here? Oh, they're Andi’s and no babysitter will watch them.- Look at Larry D. playing with them. He loves kids and after 10 years it seems as though he should be ready for marriage. Here that noise? That's just Helene and Gail fighting. It would be like old times except Chris is reffing. Guess she got that from being coach of the Globe Trotters. Bruce is telling Char, the President of the U.S., that the Communists are infiltrat- ing the government. Here comes Peg and Bon, they are both still waiting for Jim and John, who never did come home after their hitch in the service. Eleanor said she wouldn't be able to make it because she has to work in the cafe- teria at school. Phil will be a little late because he has to drive in the Daytona 500. Why here comes Yvonne, and Pam with Jen, who is still waiting for Mark to get a weekend pass. Why here comes Jay. He has finally achieved his ambition as one of the Interna- tional Jet Set. Bob said he might be a little late because he hasn't been on time for anything in his life. Craig just called and said he has to try for his license, for the 100th time, so he’ll be a little late also. Willy and Larry B., they're now co-principals of the North Argyle Vocational School. The Board of Education decided to make them principals since they spent so much time there. Terry G. said he would be a little late as he had to work tonight. Why here comes Linda and after 10 years just graduated from Mary McClellen Nursing School. We regret to say that Nancy and Juanita are unable to attend. We are sorry that everyone could not attend, but perhaps all will return to our class reunion in 1987. K in cferaarten. • TITornincj FIRST ROW: S. Ovitt, M. Shaw, R. Ballentine, R. Strode, M.
