DATE: June 24, 1970 SCENE: Top O'World Hobo Camp TIME: 12:03 A.M. The class of 1960 is assembling at the Hobo Camp, a welcome retreat, for all for- mer classmates. Gary Gilchrist is busy telling tales of his business as assistant proprietor of Ellis' gas station. One of his first customers was Will Skellie, who arrived to have his brakes fixed, also one of his regular customers is Keith Jackson, a test driver for Chev- rolet. As a first class business man, Gary frequently does business with Steve Whitman, who invented a new type rear view mirror. Martha MacAuley, grease monkey for Jack's looks on with a jovial smile as she knows Gary's business isn't as great as he claims it to be. We enjoy a delicious meal consisting of fresh meat furnished by Jim McDougall and Ken Hamilton, well-known HUNTERS, and cake from Karen's Bakery. She had such wonderful results with her cakes during the Senior play that she decided to make it her vocation. Entertainment for the evening is furnished by Betty and Carol, well-known singers in the rock and roll field. Several members send their regrets: Pete is busy with blueprints for his new home, Larry couldn’t get away from the family, Marie is terribly busy as M.C. of Jubilee, U.S.A ., Anita is overseas with her husband, Allene is touring with Eastern States Hock- ey Team, and Pat Weir's duties as Dean of Women at Houghton College keeps her from being with us. As we look around, we see Gary Humiston and Les Shear coming in. Gary has just bedded down the horses and Les has just taken his hourly cigarette break. Our meeting is covered by insurance sold by Dennis Kuba, representative of the Honesty Insurance Company. Mr. Smith has taken a night off from the White House, and George Carru- thers, now principal of A.C.S., offers a speech while Sally Gipe prompts him. She never could forget those lines. Diane Haessly and friend are now co-owners of a newly incorporated business, Binch-Clarks, Inc., while Barb Flewelling has changed her hobby from collecting class rings to wedding rings. Terry is busy giving all fellow classmates expert advice, as he is now head of the Lonely Hearts Division of Syndicated Press. Chuck presides over a short business meeting while we decide to meet again June 24, 1980
